- In the words of the writer, “I translated these poems into English for various reasons. First, rewriting the content of a poem in English helped me to understand it better. Second, I liked some poems so much that I wanted to share these with readers of the anglophone world. Third, I just felt like trying my skill at translation. And, finally, I thought I would be doing my father a service by helping share some his poetic creations. I have not attempted translation of poems that the poet himself has transcreated so superbly. He started the tradition of translating an abundance of Nepali literature into English. I only follow his footsteps a little.”
